Counting the Cost of Reliability

Reliability has a price associated with it. It can be a cost or a source of income. If you rent an instrument that fails in the field, the reliability of that instrument has become a cost. You have lost precious, billable time. When assessing the reliability of an instrument rental company, consider the following three questions: (1) was the instrument shipped to the proper address and did it arrive at the expected time? (2) were all of the instrument’s essential parts/pieces included? (3) did the unit operate as expected for the length of the job?

Affirmative responses to each of the questions asked above will ensure successful (profitable) operations. Milco Safety Rental has an outstanding record for reliability. When you place a rental order with our team, procedures are clean and uncomplicated to ensure accurate, timely shipment. To avoid missing a shipping date, FEDEX is used as the primary carrier. Over the years we have found this carrier’s reliability to be nearly perfect.

Milco’s experienced technicians, include all accessories needed for a particular instrument. After all, the unit is of no value if an essential part is missing. In addition, we double check the order to make sure that any consumable items that have been ordered are also included in the shipment. For example, a pump is inoperable without tubing.

All instruments are tested and calibrated the day they are shipped. Instruments such as PIDs, other gas monitors, and water quality instruments are calibrated with appropriate standards and a calibration sheet is provided. By testing and calibrating the unit on shipment day our customers can be confident that the unit will work reliably once it arrives on the job site.

Recognizing that your failed instrument represents additional customer costs, we urge customers to call us immediately when problems arise so that we can attempt to correct the problem, including shipping a replacement at our cost if needed.
